Local CBP Center Announces New Director

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations recently announced the selection of a new Director for its National Air Security Operations Center – Corpus Christi.

Mr. William Allen Durham, a 19-year CBP veteran, assumed the director position Aug. 6. Durham is the senior manager of one of the agency’s two P-3 operations wings where a fleet of P-3 aircraft and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) conduct operations throughout North and South America in defense of U.S. borders.

As director, Durham will lead international flight operations center tasked with the interdiction of contraband headed to the U.S. via source and transit zones found in international waters working with the Joint Interagency Task Force – South.

“I am honored to serve as the director at NASOC – Corpus Christi,” Durham said. “Having served at this center before, coupled with my various experience with CBP’s Air and Marine component, I look forward to the added responsibility of overseeing the center’s operations. I also look forward to continuing our successful partnership with the Naval Air Station, other federal, state and local law enforcement and the local community.”

Durham began his public service in 1985 flying P-3 aircraft with Navy’s VP-17 Patrol Squadron at Naval Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii.

Immediately before assuming duties as the NASOC – CC director, Durham served as the Director of Air Operations at the McAllen Air and Marine Branch, McAllen, Texas. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
